LOL, I've only personally responded if someone sends me an email thanking me for the answer. So no, there is no official "etiquette" for getting best answer.

I have never done that but I've asked myself that question a few times... so I'll put this on my watchlist to see what people say and try to conduct myself accordingly in the future :-)
