It happened in the 18th century, during those time there was no limit to how many runs you can make in an over. The batsman scored 3 sixes and 2 boundary and in the last ball , the ball got stuck in a tree, and for sometime they couldn't get it down and he made 43 runs by running between the wickets. Total runs made in that over was 69 runs which is considered to be the higest ever made in an over.

people say it's 36 b coz of 6 x 6 in an over but they're wrong. It's 49. 7 x 7. A no ball is when the bowler bowls the ball in front of the line then 1 run is awarded extra. so if the batsman always gets 6's with no balls then u will see that he got 49 runs.

The highest ever was 75 by LK Germon and RM Ford off RH Vance at a match between Canterbury and Wellington played in Christchurch in 1989-90. This included no balls but was aided by the fact that Wellington were deliberately conceding runs.
Excluding no-balls and unfair play then there are two instances of 6 sixes being scored in a single over...
GS Sobers off MA Nash in a match between Nottinghamshire and Glamorgan at Swansea (UK) in 1968 and Shastri off Tilak Raj in a match between Bombay (now Mumbai) and Boroda in Bombay (India) in 1984-85
