I know I'm only a temp, but he told me to close the window and he put the air con on, without asking me if I'm feeling hot. I'm freezing and he's out of the office now while I'm sitting under the air con!! Thank goodness it's my last day today, but should I switch the air con off? I had to ring my bank, when he was in the office (he didn't know who I was ringing), and he wanted to know "what it was all about".

What has being a lady got to do with it?

I thought we were meant to be moving towards equality?

You think women should always be put first but I bet you also believe they should have all the same rights as men.

You can not pick and choose with equality "I want to be equal here but want superior rights here" just does not hold water.

Sexism has no place in an enlightened society but it does appear so many prefer to still stumble around in the dark.

So let me get this right - you want special treatment just because of your gender?

This is a classic example of the pathetic institutionalised sexism that is making a complete mess of the plight of equality.

You should be treated as an equal. If you are not, then you have grounds for complaint. But if you think you should get priority because you've got a vagina then you really have the wrong idea.

Well at least you’re leaving. When he was gone you should have turned down the AC. I had a boss that played classical music all day but when he left for an errand I switched it to rock. As far as the phone issue some people are real control freaks. Just be glad that you’re shed of him

If you were cold you should have turned the Air Con off. If he asked you to turn it on then say you are too cold.
As for the phone call, were you allowed to make personal calls whilst at work?

You should stick up for yourself, you are paid to work not to suffer. Unless it's in your job desciption. He might just be trying to be friendly aswell but not doing it a way you think is friendly.

So lets see:

He's the boss

Your a temp

Your complaining that he is giving you orders

Your complaining that he want to know what personal calls you are making whilest in work?

Get over it - welcome to the real world !!!

You boss has the final say = thats why he's the boss!

He has every right to ask why you are making personal calls in works time - whether you used your personal mobile phone or not.

You need to learn how to play the system - go for a coffee break or toilet break and then make the call.

I'm really not surprised he was inquisitive - he doesnt pay you to make personal calls - OR go on yahoo answrs !

You have the same rights as any of the staff. but no-one member has priority over another, you should all be treated fairly.

Inform your agancy of how you have been treated, they may be able to deal with the situation. also make out that you have feel bullied due to being a temp.

etiquette has nothing to do with the workplace. However if you are cold, and he is out of the office, turn the air con off.

I'm sure your current unfortunate employer won't miss you.

It would appear you are no lady, even though you may be of the female gender.

Good luck in your search for the next stupid boss, this one seems to have got you sussed out.
