Isn't there a tradition among American indians about a white bullalo. Does anyone know what it is?

I am a member of the Choctaw tribe...the message of the white bison was the peace pipe, a revelation from God intended to unite Native Americans against a coming cultural onslaught that would decimate them if they did not unite. The Lakota received the revelation, but they let tribal rivalries keep them from sharing the peace pipe with any rival tribes, keeping it only among the few of their favorites. Eventually the peace pipe became a traditional observance to begin a partnership, but the main meaning of it was lost, Native America did not unite, and European settlers decimated Native America.

However, the revelation is progressive, there's more to the story. The white bison continues to testify that mankind can be saved from it's own pattern of hate and self-destruction.

By the way, the original legendary white bison first appeared as a a naked white woman about 19 generations ago, or 5 generations before Columbus. She was an apparition that delivered the peace pipe during a meeting with Lakota chiefs. As she left she turned into a white bison, and disappeared on the plains.

To this day among the Lakota is an assigned keeper of the original pipe. Generation 19, soon to pass to Generation 20.

The appearance of a white buffalo signals a run of prosperity and good luck for the tribe which spots it and then protects it.

There is currently only one white buffalo and the Native American Tribal Council (representing more than 100 tribes) has charge of the little guy for the good of ALL Native Americans.

I remember about five years ago, or so, reading and seeing the photo of a white buffalo calf (in the newspaper) born in... I want to say... Dakota.

There was some important Native American traditional belief associated with that, but I can't seem to remember what it was. Sorry.

Buffalo woman legend also says that before she left she turned green, red, blue, black and yellow. This will signify the return of the peace of all tribes. The white buffalo was born nearly ten years ago. It did turn red during a fungus infection, then green when the medicene reacted with it's coat.
