I think the family should make the decision and without any pressure from the media or public. I can only imagine how grief stricken his wife and children are. First and foremost they lost a husband and a father so let's take time to respect that and remember him as that, not the public figure because in all honesty, we don't matter in this.

If Steve Irwin wanted his death to be filmed, that's his perogative, but did he also say he wanted it to be viewed by the public?
I don't really think it would be in anyones interests to see him dieing.
He seemed like a nice guy, we all know how he died, is it really necessary to watch it too?
His death should definitely NOT be aired on public TV - I understand that a number of rays have been found killed following the death of Steve Irwin (people wanting payback??!) I'm fairly certain Steve wouldn't have wanted that and I think that by airing his death on TV, this might incite more hated towards a lovely creature.
There will always be some people who like to watch death - let them sell the DVD (if they must) and let the proceeds go towards a cause that Steve would have liked.

No I don't think it should be made Public. But Sadly it will be. Someone from the Production Co. that was filming at the time will try to make a Quick Buck and Sell the footage to the Highest bidder. I think the Footage should be Destroyed. Let the Man Rest in Peace.

,NO. I do not, its not a circus, he was a very courageous guy perhaps a little fool hardy but he said he was happy living on the edge. Why does the press always refer to him as the croc hunter why not Mr Irwin he deserves respect even in death and to his Wife and Dad your both good people you have behaved with dignity and I know Steve would be proud of you and I know the depth of your grief. Steve Irwin was all about life. Personally nothing would be more macabre than seeing his last hours. Tasteless too.

Sure, why shouldn't it be viewed publicly?
After all he is a public enthusiast.
If people want to watch Steve Irwin die, then..I guess they should be able to view it.

I would not show it out of respect to the family. It's just like when the World Trade Centers fell. Till this day they still show the buildings falling down and the tragedy. I don't think that it should be shown over and over again.

I think his death should be left alone and he should be remembered for all that he has done for the animal kingdom. Even if that tape was made public, I wouldn't watch it and think it was a horrible thing to do to his family and his memory. Better to remember what he did while alive instead of his last moments of life

I think it should be destroyed. I wouldn't want to see it and I'm sure his family doesn't need to see it.
Also I'd like to add that whoever is killing Stingrays because of Steve's death are so wrong. He wouldn't have wanted that to happen. He was all about the animals.
