I work for a grocery store and our policy is to have the customer check with the customer service desk when you bring the item in the store and have them put a paid stamp on the item . Suppose the store sell the same item in the store and they didn't see you bring it in the store they would assume that it is one of there item and you didn't pay for it so its better to be safe than sorry to avoid the hassle from store personnel.

I do that on occasion, but I try to bring in something that the store I'm shopping in doesn't sell. For instance if I go to Walmart, where they sell Aquafina and Dasani water, I will try to have Ozarka water that I can take in there with me. If not, then I will get a bottle of water inside and drink it as I shop and pay for it when I check out.

no--1. it will make you have to pee 2.--you may spill it on the floor, causing an old lady to slip who will sue the store causing it to close, thereby not allowing anyone to shop there again.3. If you bring your own water, you won't buy their water, which will cause their sales to drop, which means they will have to raise their prices on other items, thereby causing the rest of us to have to pay more money.4.--water isn't good for you. 5--drink your water outside before you go into the store. If you do this while leaning up against your car, people will think you are cool. 6.--If you drink in the store, next thing you know people will be wanting to eat in the store. What if somebody decided to start grillilng in the middle of the asile? Can you imagine the problems that would cause? 7.--You could try sucking on an orange. The employee's would think you stole it, call the police which in turn would cause a crowd to form. This would be good for business, resulting in increased sales and lower prices, not to mention you'd get your picture in the paper.8.There isn't a #8. In fact this is the end. I hope it helps.

yep! i do it all the time.
one thing i do, however, is if i'm going to wal-mart and my bottle is an aquafina bottle, then i get a smiley sticker on it, so a cashier knows i brought it in.
if it's in one of my reusable bottles, then i just take it wherever i want!
i've worked retail for many years and this has never been an issue.
however, it's rude to leave a drink sitting on a shelf or leave it if it spills somewhere. if it spills, go get someone. if you're done with it, then keep it til you find a trash can...
take care!

Absolutely !! I bring a water bottle of my own or sometimes I purchase one of theirs at the door so I am ON CAMERA purchasing it before I open it. : )
'
If in doubt or if you feel sneaky doing this just go to customer service and say "hey I have my own water...got a problem with it ?"... ha ha

I always leave mine in the car. Grocery shopping doesn't take that long.
Plus, the staff at my store all know me, and know I never steal. So that's a plus.

Yes, unless they have signs that say otherwise. All the major chains allow it. You can bring coffee , tea or soda as well.

As long as the drink is a non-alcoholic beverage and it is already paid for at another store, then it is perfectly all right.
