You need to explain clearly what you are looking for. What is the consumer forum that you are talking about?
Any issue of Consumer Reports can have instances where the consumer is either duped or otherwise exploited.

Heaps of cases and they depend on which country you are referring to. However "snake oil" stories have been around since Adam and Eve. You can fool all people some of the time. The idea of a forum is to prevent this fooling and create awareness. If something is too good to be true, it probably is. Best prevention? Don't be greedy. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
