I have been reading that girls find out that their baby's are dead in their womb as far as 20 weeks (5 months) in their pregnancy. I am 5 months, when I am pregnant I do not make big bellys at all and my normal range of weight gain is between 7 & 10 pounds - this is my third child, but with this pregnancy at times I do not feel pregnant at all nor do I feel like I have a baby inside, but other days the baby is moving alot and I "feel" pregnant. Is there a monitor that I could buy so I could hear my son's heartbeat when I want to and that it will not be harmful to the baby?

You could be having a baby of a different sex?? they say that girls and boys just feel 'different' sometimes. But if youve had both then id go to the doctor and get them to check the heartbeat. And if you can, buy a stethiscope so that you can listen to the heartbeat as much as you want. Im sure your baby is fine! Good luck 2 u!

there are lots of monitors out there in the market that you can buy. babies r us sells a couple of models... i wouldnt recommend buying it though. I asked my aunt who is an L&D nurse what she thought about those monitors. she says they dont recommend pregnant women purchasing them because then you'll be searching for the baby's heartbeat all the time. At times its difficult to hear the babys heartbeat depending on how they are positioned inside. Not hearing your babys heartbeat might just cause you to panic and stress you out which can lead you to the hospital.

Its quite normal to stress the way you are and there are a lot of scary stories out there. You can hire dopplers. Do a search on the internet in your area!

I would also talk to your LMC and let her or him know your concerns

Yes, this one is probably worth every penny so you won't be so concerned. Stress also is bad for you generally, but especially is you are pregnant.

Check out this monitor:

I used to use a stethoscope, sorry don't know how to spell it, but we used to always listen to him that why, its cool to hear the heart beat. You just have to find one, my sister in law worked for a Dr. so we had one.
