Because the financial imput helps pay the mortgage and the bills. Everything's far to expensive nowadays to live the single life. If you're in love with the person, at least initially, then it helps.

Everyone? Apparently you don't. Why did you say everyone? Do you mean everyone but you? MOST people want to be in love because it's a great feeling. Being lonely is a lousy feeling. And no, it is not ALWAYS a pleasant experience... but it USUALLY is. Perhaps your choice of words needs a little work.

Might be that we are hardwired to breed and love is a byproduct of this, a way of getting a mate etc, but that still doesn't explain why we are into having one wife for life when some other people have many wives - maybe they breed with them all but only love two or three?
Love is said to be a set of emotions and they are felt when you miss your partner, when you think about them all the time, plan you life around them or to include them, when you feel the need to be with them etc.
Seems also that we like tactile activities such as cuddling, kissing, and caressing: - so do dogs, parrots, cats, horses...
We associate the tactile activities with positive emotions, with tenderness or affection or reward for good behavior or something.
I suppose that the tactile element of love is part of love because we are told that love is a positive thing and when somebody likes you enough to caress or cuddle you or whatever then that is part of that.
As for wanting to be in love, I would say that we are expected to.
If we don't then we might feel that we are letting ourselves down or missing out on something.
When it happens it can be nice, if not then maybe it is nice next time.

everyone wants to be in love because love is programed into us right from day one its an emotion some are stronger than others first comes ''LUST'' this lasts on average 6 months your brain releases a mass of endorphins , this is were you can't sleep eat and constantly think about this person , it is like being on a hight 24/7 that is why people want to be in love thay need another fix

love is such a wonderful warm and guey feeling, it makes you look at the world differently, it's like a legal drug so why wouldn't you want to be in love it's when someone doesn't love you back that it all starts to suck
