You not alone. My husband and I are chronic diy starters and not finishers. It's taking over two years to finish a bathroom downstairs. Three years to reapply 1/4 round. Installed new doors two years ago and still haven't finished around them. My husband seems to have a knack for starting new things and not finishing them. And a year and half ago he embarked on constructing a two story garage all on his own. It is so slow.

Yes. Been in our house 10 years. Bedroom still has 70s style pink decor. No-one sees it, we only sleep there who cares. The public areas are up to date anyway. Took about 2 years to decorate the living room. Had new plaster on the walls after replacing the damp course. Had to make sure it was dry before painting it. 2 years made sure. Will do the bedroom this year though. It sucks

Nuttygirl, you are definately not alone, the only time my OH moves is when I stick Dynamite where the sun dont shine.
I think the problem lies with me, as I am a getting things done person, and cause I am always getting things done, he then sees no need to do anything.
Try acting pitifull and distressed, it might work for you, it dont for me, but then I get my own back, I do or I should say dont do things when he wants them done, I conveniently forget, and it drives him mad.

I bought a garden shed for my husband last year. It needs a base digging out for it before it can be erected. Next month it will be the first anniversary of the shed arriving in bits - and it is still in bits because the base still hasn't been dug out.

what exactly about putting up T&G meant that a bloke had to do it ?

You're not alone, no. There are LOTS of woman who think that DIY is the blokes job.

If you want something done, oftentimes, you have to do it yourself! Good luck honey, and no, you're not alone.
