does anyone in the office have access to the site? At my office, my friend was not getting access to his sports websites, sportsline, espn etc, but i was able to get onto those sites. the way we got around the problem was by downloading the SMAC tool which spoofs the physical address of your network card. So if the system is limiting access based on mac address voila you have a new mac address that the blocker doesn't know exists.

submit a request to your systtem administrator to unblock that specific site ... keep in mind that the "PC" you use at work is a Corporate Asset and not a Personal Computer ... sites are blocked to improve productivity and keep out viruses

can you say "unemployed"?

"Here I am"'s solution wont work ... sites are blocked at the gateway, the host file will not bypass it

They are blocked for a reason. Your IT system administrator will be able to overcome the "problem" but I hope he does'nt unless you can give him/her a darn good reason.
