You will notice them doing this in "social" situations (ie if they went on their own at home or at work, you'd not be around to notice) and they are probably having a strategy meeting eg talking about the men present where they are, how each other looks, how long they plan to stay etc. Oh what do I know, I'm a bloke

I used to go to the loo with my friend when I was a little girl and talk about girly things !
But when I got older the bitchiness in the ladies in clubs or disco's, the eyeing-up of each others bums and the rolling - up of eyes to the heavens behind each others backs , used to make me sick !
I used to go in the Gents for my piddle even so it stunk!!
By the way I am no dyke !

I hate it when that happens. When I'm out with my friends who are all male bar one, and she needs to go to the toilet she expects me to go with her and when I go on my own she always follows. It's just weird.

As for what we talk about: we just continue the conversation from before or I ask her why she needs to go in pairs and, strangely enough, she never has an answer for that.

most women are social creatures. We need to see if our friends like the guy that we are with. There is also the catty women that while in there they discuss the other women what they are wearing or how they are acting, We also discuss the other men in the establishment. All of these things that shouldn't be talked about in the open.

the reference here must be dinner outside I presume. For I'm yet to see anyone do that at home.

Anyways at a dinner outside it usually men who do the talking. men talk about sports, business, money, how smart they are, how can they win the world, and how can they sh@g his best friends wife... women have to talk somewhere...

ok you can count this as the second answer, but rumour has it... that women excuse themselves to go and fart in the bathroom... why do they do it in pairs. I'll leave for another lady to answer...

Maybe it's their opportunity to talk about all the interesting things they've been thinking about; philosophy, maths, cosmology, etc, because god knows they say little of any interest all the rest of the time! Joke! They go in pairs as a throw back to being protected whilst vulnerable and they talk about men, of course.

I always find it baffling when I am out and about and a female in my company says to me, "I'm off to the loo. Come with me". What!!?? Or worse, when I say that I'm off to the loo, they look at me in a slightly concerned way and ask, "do you want me to come with you?". FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO!!!!! I have no idea why my gender needs to do this. If men behaved in such a manner it would be considered odd, which it is.

usually to gossip about the people they are with at the particular time...for example if they go to a double date with their boyfriends, wthey will talk about them in the bathroom and giggle and be silly, and then project a mature image when they are back in front of them. oh, and also, to get the each other's opinion as to whether they refreshed their make-up right. having a girlfriend at your side kind of gives women confidence. because girlfriends' approve and disapprove=)
