Because of the suction in the bottle with the lid tightly closed...but if you take that lid off, you release the suction and the water will begin to drip out. It's kinda like when you open a can...of something like solid cranberry jelly, and try as you might, shake it upside down all you like...it's not coming out untill you open the other end of the can as well...then the suction is released and the cranberry jelly slides right out.

There are two basic effects here. One is that that air has to come in so the water can go out.Otherwise there is a vacuum created that prevents more water from going out. But this is not the only thing going on. If it was, you wouldn't have water going out of a bottle with a large hole either. The crucial thing is the surface tension of the water. For small holes this surface tension keeps the water surface from distorting enough to let air past. For larger holes, the distortion needed is proportionally smaller so air can go in and water can go out.

Its the atmosphric pressure which cannot act on the top surface of liquid insside the bottle to press it out. Many magicians also play this trick by closing or opening a hole on top of a container by their finger. If the hole is closed, no atmospheric pressure can exert and so no water falls. But if you remove your finger, the water surface is now exposed to the atmospheic pressure and the water starts falling.

That would certainly depend on how big the hole is....... the hole needs to be big enough to facilitate the water coming and air going at the same time so they can switch places with each other.
If it is just a tiny hole then water and air have to squeeze by each other and that takes time and thus produces and very slow dribble.

Because of air flow. if the lid is on the water will no flow our it will leak but not flow. If you take the lid off then the water should flow out of the hole. it also depends on where on the bottle the hole is.

It drips out, because the opening is so small
and there is not enough air pressure to force it out. make the hole bigger and take the cap off and more water will come out faster, due to the addtional air pressure and gravity.

there is a vacuum created, air can't get in to displace the water so the water stays in.
