this week we found that my wife may be pregnant, the best we can figure is that it happened 3 weeks ago. The problem is my wife took an asprin shortly after the thought conception day, along with a motrin this last week, in this time frame she has drank cafiene and one occasion of some alchohol as well. We are heading to the doc soon, but I am curious if we should be really concerned.

Don't stress it.

Seriously, its not like she knew she was pregnant and by the sound of it you may not have been planning. Just going forward be healthy. No more alcohol. Little bits of caffine is not harmful. I loved coffee in the morning. I didnt give it up when i was pregnant, i just cut back. No more asprin or motrin but you can use regular strength tylenol in moderation.

Your wife will be just fine. Congratulations to the both of you!

I also have gotten some really bad headaches that would not go away with time. I called the Telehealth Line ( sponsored by the Ontario Government, manned by RPNs) and they told my that they only recommend regular Trent Tylenol.
I try to wait out the headache by lying down in a dark quiet room, but if that doesn't work within a few hours. I take 1 Tylenol and wait. Usually that is all it takes.
Try increasing your water intake. That usually helps to stave off headaches before they start.
If your OBGYN really did tell your cousin to take Aspirin then I suggest you both get new doctors

Dont stress your baby will be fine, this happens to alot of women becuase they dont know that they are pregnant yet. They say its the most fragile time for a baby, but still all these babies seem to pull through the alcohol and caffiene and smoking etc etc perfectly healthy babies. Theres no need to be concerned. Also, caffiene in small doses is fine. Although i think your mother side of you kicks in when you find out your pregnant and you wont want to do any of it. The whole 9 months of me being pregnant i stopped smoking, stopped coffee, stopped alcohol and never took any panadol tablets at all! LOL

I wouldn't be too concerned. Alot of women go out and drink, smoke, etc before they find out their pregnant. I talked to my doctor when I was pregnant. He said 1 cup of coffee a day was safe. If she's going to drink coffee though she can't have other caffeine. Tell her if she needs to take anything just use Tylenol. It's the only thing proven to be safe. 1 Motrin isn't going to hurt the baby. I had to have surgery when I was pregnant and had to take percocet for 11 weeks. I don't even like taking Tylenol but I had no choice. I thank God that my son is fine.
Best of luck to both of you on your newest addition!!

when i was pregnant with my first baby i didn't find out until i was 4 months. i got drunk alot during the first 2 1/2 months and my daughter was fine. she is 10 now and is the smartest in her 5th grade class. as for the asprin or motrin i was told to only use tylinol. but you can ask the doctor about what medicine is okay to take.

I found out I was pregnant a couple of days after I had a few drinks. Dr said it was OK. I wouldn't stress out I am sure she will be fine. Caffeine is not life threatening to the baby. I had the occasional soda when I was pregnant!! Good luck!!

When I was pregnant with my first I had no idea I had conceived and I got really drunk over new years. My doc told me not to worry about it b/c I had JUST conceived and it was only the one time. Of course, she made it a point to tell me to not drink again, which is good advice to anyone that is pregnant, but the fact that you didn't know she was even pregnant means that it was probably to early for it to even make a difference. I just wouldn't do it again. Best wishes and Congrats!!!
