yes Limewire is legal but not everything you do with it is legal (like downloading copyright material) the moment there is any form of copyright infringement then it becomes illegal(which is what happens when you download songs etc) so indirectly it is illegal but limewire itself is legal

Limewire is completely legal till you do not use it to download materials that are copyrighted like songs, movies and others. You can download or share things that have common rights or things someone has developed and would like others to test or see/ hear. For eg you come up with a good track you created and would like to share instead of making a copyright of it then anyone can download it and use it in their projects/ others. That thing is legal as you have no copyright on it. If you get a license on it and make sure that anyone who uses that track for their project should give you a credit and if he does not than he has violated the copyright and u can sue him. So Limewire is for legal sharing and downloads. Anyways Limewire cannot control things happening on their network so check the license before downloading things.

No, limewire is NOT legal if you are downloading songs for free. There are no legal "free" song downloads. As long as you have a virus scan program installed, you should be fine with viruses.

I have had the problem. Sometimes i download a program and i get millions of pop ups! even virus and anti spyware protection cant help it! Just look at what you download. It does not matter with songs. Programs are a big risk.

i think you'll find lime wire is legal, its legal to download but elegal to share and upload, i find the best anti virus on the market so far is avast , norton is a joke ,

The programme 'limewire' isn't illegal itself to own or use, its just illegal to download any copywrited material, which would include 99.9% of the stuff available on limewire.

if you use limewire install AVAST HOME 4 its free
you wont get a virus from music, only progs.
but avast will sort it anyway

Yes-it is fully legal if you use it to enrich yourself and others.So, this means that if you copy any copyrighted material your are stealing from them-which does not enrich them.
