Jewish people are considered white, right?

I mean when they fill out the race option on forms, they must check 'White or Caucasian' because they are certainly not black hispanic asian or native american, right? If you ask me Barbra Striesand, Ben Stiller, and Steven Speilberg look white to me! Why have I read that Jewish are not considered white? Is it to make other races feel that Jesus was not white (because he was Jewish and that's 'not white'?)

I think the "Jews are not white" idea is based on racism, because racists love the white race but hate Jews and the only way they can justify this is by saying Jews are not white. Yes, on census forms almost all Jews check white (except for the very few Jews that come from countries like Ethiopia or India) Most American Jews are of European descent, so yes they're white.

Jewish people are of the same stock wherever they have lived for long periods of time. All Jews are not from the original stock,some are converts and many may even be from people that have converted from long times in the past. To be sure, many Jews that are not from the original stock maybe white. But there are Jews from many nations including India,China,Ethiopia and others. However to answer your question - Jesus was probably closer in look to a Sephardic Jew than an Ashkanazie Jew (the examples that you give), but Ashkanzie and Sephardic Jew's have had there ancestory through dna testing to go back to the same Jews that lived in Judea of the time of Jesus - or how his name should really be said in English - Joshua (transliteration - Yoshuah). Judaism is a religion - not a race - and Ben Stiller had a Jewish father - his mother was a Christian.

When you ask a Sephardic Jew to put down their race they are most likely to put down white - Black does not fit them at all - and to say they are Arab - especially the Sephardic Jews who were persecuted in the Arab countries they lived in - would make them sick to their stomachs.

Religion and race are two different things. Whoopi Goldberg (famous comedian) is Jewish, and she's black. If you are of Israeli descent (Jewish in ancestry), then you are considered Caucasoid. In fact, strange as it may seem, all people from the middle east are considered Caucasoid.

Oh yeah, and anyone (of any race, and of any religion) can be racist. They just need to harbor feelings of superiority over another race. There are many racist minorities in the world today. The type of person that most people think about when they hear the word "Jew" is a white person that wears that little hat on their head, these jews are mostly from European decent and there for would have to check the box "white" when asked what their race is since that is what they are..white.
