why do teachers and coaches get off so easy?

When convicted of a sex crime why do teachers and coaches seam to get off so easy and sometimes not even go to prison when they throw the book at a normal person who are not in a position of trust

Teachers are liars, they stick together and make excuses for each other.
We have a shortage of teachers & coaches, so the school officals will lie to keep the staff they have.
