My boyfriend has decided (in his wisdom of course) that im having a boy cos of the way that im carrying (all bump and boobs nothing else) anyway back to the question.... He likes the name Emmerson Ayrton. Was just wondering what you lot thought of it and would the name be ridiculed in anyway - just thinking ahead cos kids are cruel!!!! The only one i can think of is Emmie (which is quite cute (for a girl?!?!?)

Ayrton is pronounced air-ton for a description, i agree with the one M not two. No im not high, traditional names in my opinion are a bit boring and babies look like old men when they are born and he will be an old man eventually so it fits. As for the person who said about it being pretentious - whatever its better than all these kids i know called Jack or Connor

I like it, should be a cute name. However, Emmerson is a brand of televisions and it sounds like an older mans name. But there are weirder names out there now of days. He should, if it is a boy, be just fine...

hey! Yeah Emmerson is a great name! BUT i suggest maybe one M (Emerson) for a boy and if you end up having a girl spell it will double MM (Emmerson) Its just a tad girlie with two m's, but a Very very cute name. Also the middle name is great. Youve done well to pick out a name! It was one of the hardest things for me to do! By the way i was the same.. all boob and belly and the rest of me was kinda like a stick figure. hehe and yep i had a boy too! Goodluck with Baby Emerson =)

Kids will make fun of any name you choose. There was a group once by the name of Emmerson, Lake, and Palmer. The Palmer went solo few years ago with the hit "Addicted to Love." Emmerson is better than Elmer of Herman (no offense) Worst name calling i can think of from others is being teased about eminem.

I think it sounds like a great name. I would probably spell Emerson with just one "m" also. Being that I have 3 children and I know what it is like to teach them to write and spell their names I would just hate to make it to awful hard on him...u know?
I agree with you about having a name that isn't the same as everyone else. I had a very common name growing up and therefore we decided that our childrens middle names would be common (family names) but the first names would be different from the norm. Although, it seems at one point that the names start catching up and soon their uncommon names are quite common.
Congrats on your pregnancy! The name sounds great! I wish you the best of luck!

Emerson - - - one M not Two - - - is a mouthful by itself, where does Ayrton come from - - - is it Er Ton or Aye R Ton? Augh - - - the kid will have two strikes againbst before he starts to crawl. Emerson works best alone but if you need a middle name go with Wyatt - - - most likely the child will go with a simple M - - - as a nickname. Peace....

What happened to parents calling their children proper names like John or Fredrick or Michael or Christopher? I'd so make fun of a kid named Emmerson in grade school just because it sounds so pretentious. Ayrton? Geez?! Are you high?

Love the first name, unsure about the middle. Remember it is your choice after all. Love Emmie for a girl, it happens to my daughter's nickname. Good Luck to you.

The problem with asking others opionions is that every body has a different one. What I like you might not. You should call your child whatever you want!!!
