stuffed animals for each are great. whenever we buy for my nephews and nieces a couple of things they can play with now and stuff they can grow into during the next year. baby einstein stuff is great for the 3 month old. a train set and a trike would be suitable for the older child. And it would give you that picteresque scene under the christmas tree. a little red wagon would be a great way to store toys right now and by next christmas they'll be pulling it around. something my dad did for me and my cousin for our first christmas was that he built a small storage box that looked kind of like a shopping cart and filled it with inexpensive wooden blocks. my cousin is in college now and still uses his cart in his dorm room. if you have a steinmart or TJ maxx nearby they have some great toys and clothes at great prices.
our steinmart here has a big display of amazing handpuppets that i know both kids would enjoy.
and never forget books on the christmas list.
half price books will expand your library without breaking the bank.

Gifts that help them grow and develop. You can get books for them or the Leap Pad little touches and a bunch of those books. They can be quite attention grabbing for little ones.
Also, maybe some music cd's with kids songs and some musical instruments. Then you can have some "dance parties" with your little ones (and even maybe hand the 3 month old a tambourine to shake around).
Have fun with it but DONT go crazy. A few fun toys beat out a room full of things they will only play with once. Believe me, I kno! If relatives ask what to get them, suggest subscriptions to book clubs or savings bonds. Your kids are too young to appreciate or even understand the gift giving, but in the future the savings bonds or books can do them a world of good.

For my daughter her first Chirstmas (last year) I bought her the Weebles Tree House. If the one yearold is closer to 1.5/2 at Christmas a toy dolly might be good.
Infants really are not picky.
I would buy things they need, appropriate for their ages. They are really to young to care whats inside a package.
I have 3 children, the older two (ages 5 and 7) now really know and get excited. They really didn't before age 3.
Go out to the stores, play with the things yourself, pick stuff you like/need, and have fun with it.
Good Luck

I wouldn't go all out just yet.I am a mom of 3 and when they are at that age, they could care less what you get because most of the time they will play with the box instead of the toy thats in the box.I say go all out when the oldest one understands how santa is, and understands what a christmas tree is. My youngest child is almost 4 and he is now at that age where he talks about christmas and santa clause.

I would only buy a few toys and the rest would be clothes. They will always need clothes and right now, they aren't concerned about getting the most expensive toys or other things they see on television.

Sounds solid to me. Now in my adulthood and formerly my marriage wreck up, i might rejoice on the twenty 5th that's typical in England. in spite of the undeniable fact that, my grandmother became Austrian and that's/became Austrian custom to furnish Christmas presents on Christmas Eve. If reminiscence serves that became the day "Kristkindle" might come and that became the huge day while i became starting to be up. In a small yet unintended revert to previous kin custom, transportation subject concerns will ward off me from seeing my daughter on Christmas Day, in spite of the undeniable fact that, she is coming over on the twenty third and could be recieving her provides from my fringe of the kin on Christmas Eve.
