my experience is that hotspots in airports are not free and require subscription... usually available on very short terms, as you can imagine. Hotels are a little different and often provide WiFI free... sometimes hotels have a secured network which requires a network key (available when you check in) but sometimes are unsecured and require nothing. WiFi in hotels can usually be picked up in the hotel bar, lobby restaurant as well as in your room. Also, there are coffee shops that have free WiFi and some libraries also provide the service. Depends on your destination. Good luck.

Yes there r 2 types of wireless networks every where and in abroad too. viz, Secured connection and Unsecured connection in secured connection u need to have a user name and passward to get connected to the internet and unsecured networks doesnt need anything to connect it is directly connected but there are some drawbacks of unsecured connection as there could be some sniffer or hacher working on ur systems as the data will be transfered on the unsecured medium ... So be aware and use it

there are no free hotspots, you must pay a time-bloc fee, usually about $10 per hour to the ISP servicing the hotspot
