to be honest, if we were to make drastic changes to our lifestyle right now (extremely unlikely) then Global Warming will still continue but to a much lesser extent , so yes, we're doomed

According to Al Gore and crew yes. The facts:
1. Global Warming is a THEORY. It is not proveable. There is so much junk science behind it. The truth is our climate goes through natural changes up and down.
2. Global Warming being caused by humans is a load of crap. There is less way to prove this. See #1. This idea is backed by anti-capitalists.
3. Here is proof that global warming is a farce.
There is not enough data to conclude anything. The earth has been around for hundreds of millions of years. We have accurate temperature data for a few hundred years. The margin of error on this is way more than the supposed few degrees of temperature variation.
If we are responsible for the polar ice caps melting, then why when the tsunami hit in Indonesia, did we find an underwater city? How did it get under water? How about the ice caps melted thousands of years ago? What could have caused that? How about normal temperature fluctuations? Or maybe the dinosaurs farted too much?
We as a society have allowed the liberals to brainwash us into believing guesses as fact. This is another example of it.
This does not exclude Americans using resources wisely. Recycle, use energy efficient appliances, etc.

Well, earth as we know it is doomed anyhow since the sun is dying....go figure but it's true. Scientists have found that it's diameter has increased by 25-30% in the last 50 million years which is why earth is getting warmer as the sun rays stretch closer to us. They say that since the sun is not a supernova (it is at least 8 times smaller) it will gradually expand over the next thousand/million years until it's rays scorch the earth. Then it will fizzle (as opposed to exploding like a supernova) and that will be the end of life as we know it. This is a long ways away I am sure but it is clear that man-made pollution can/is expediating the situation if our only layer of protection agst the harmful effects of the sun is stripped away........either way, we are on borrowed time and it is all just a matter of time...

Are you sure that it exists at all? Isn't it just a bunch of anti-capitalists trying to wreck our political system? My understanding that methane emissions from the sea bed and volcanic activity has more effect than anything we do. Also, apparently water vapour in the form of clouds adds considerably more to global warming than CO2 emissions. We have had ice ages in the past, sun spots also have an effect. What about the possibility of mega volcanic eruptions. The thought that we are in control of the earth, and natural external forces is, in my view, laughable.

Beyond the point of no return?
Yes... although give it a few million years and it will sort itself out.
Doomed?
Hardly, although there are an awful lot of people who will find themselves in countries that can no longer support them. The world is going to shrink & get very very crowded. Life will get pretty cheap.

The so-called solutions to global warming are more likely to destroy us than global warming itself.

No I don't think so, but I feel we all have to start doing something to change the direction we are going. Maybe a little more tree planting and less construction should be our quest. LIFE IS GOOD! REALLY! rocksfinders71187.com

apparently we only have 10 years to save the planet - and no, I didn't get this information from the film 'Flash Gordon'
problem is only a small percentage seem to be doing anything to stop it, they're all too selfishly thinking 'as long as it doesn't happen in my lifetime' - I can't believe people are this mindnumbingly selfish
