the essence of art is to enhance and inspire the artistic culture of a society. that is why we have many different forms of art, even in one society, in addition to others.
all societies have some forms of art and what is conducive to one people as art would not be appealing to others.
art therefore must stimulate the imagination and have a perfunctory effect upon ones sensibilities in order for that person to consider a particular work a work of art. i could go on and on, but then i would just be going on ans on and i know you are probably anxious to get to other answers, so have a good day!!!
