Yes ANTS, those little tiddly things that take nest under your bricks in the garden.

Funny question to ask I know, but I have purchased an ANTFARM as a birthday present for someone, and I need ANTS to put in it. You can send off for them, but they take six weeks to come through the post. Thats too long, I have thought about getting some out of the garden, but I do not like BUGS or anything like that, a Dragon Fly just touched me outside, and I started screaming, good job no-one was around.

So does anyone know a website.

Thanks

Just for the record. I know its a weird birthday present, but I wanted something weird and unusual for a particular person, so therefore, I wouldn't buy anything like this for everyone I buy presents for.

The ants that go with the Antfarm (Really cool gift by the way, I had one when I was a kid and was continually amazed at the amount of work they got done.) As a special type of worker ant. Not sure just any old ants will do.

Different ants have different jobs.

However If I remember right when they shipped my ants it only took 3 days. IMO The Ants won't even last 6 weeks so I don't know how it could take that long (Ants don't live very long.)

I think mine lasted about 2-3 weeks before they started dying off.

Easy...no need to make anymore investment. Just put one table spoon of sugar on a teacup. Put this cup on a big plastic sheet, then leave it outside the house. You will have plenty of ants on that sugar after sometime. Transfer ants to the Ant-farm.....how about it?

That's a really cool present, I almost bought one from my friend. Don't bother sending off for any!

Seriously, ants aren't freaky- they're teeny, get some from the garden! Or, get a friend or someone you know to get them and then put them in the Antfarm for you, you won't ever have to touch them!

Good luck with it, they're fun :D

1) I'm having trouble with ants at home. You can take some if you like.
2) Just put some meat on the window sill and ants will come.
3) It was my birthday on Sep. 6 and nobody brought me a gift like that of course. This is a pretty wierd birthday gift.

Try this site. You could of course just give them the ant farm and let them send away for the ants when they're ready.

Get a thin transparent plastic box
Fill it with dirt
Kill a bug and sprinkle it with sugar and keep it in a jar in your garden, and let it fill with ants
Dump them in the box
