I'm a film maker and am constantly having to come up with ideas for documentaries on terrestrial TV. Often commissioning editors will say that they dont think people are interested in certain areas or subjects. I'd like to know what you would want to watch, observational docs, current affairs, you tell me and I'll try and make it. Keep it clean though guys, there are specific channels for that! but seriously, I would like to know what you think. What places would you like to see inside and who are the people that you find interesting and you can imagine being on TV at 9pm.

Thanks

My chosen documentary would be about wildlife and plants etc. I have always liked nature and i think that it would be great on terrestrial TV. You dont really get many people that has a favour for the world of nature and i think that it will be a great opportunity to do somethink about this. It also may encourage children to learn about the wonders of the world.

Baby elephants - they are my favourite thing in all the world and I would move heaven and earth to watch a programme about them.

Other than that, archaeology, geology, little-known figures from history (like the Mark Steel Lectures focus on), and generally interesting subjects - not very specific I know but I've done the best I can.

I would like to see a documentary on women who have lived with peodophiles not knowing of course who they were with. I found after 14 years of married that my husband had abused 3 children and it is so hard to come to terms with how you can live with someone all that time and never know them. I dont think society understand (how could they) how these people work and how a peodophiles family are manipulated and conned and the devastating effect it has on everyone around them.

Because I do not think the world has come to terms with the crime of Child Sexual Abuse, we do not have enough coverage, of the magnitude of this exploitation of children. I am sure we could organise a world conference, on the plight of the green turtle, but suggesting even a national approach to combating CSA
and everyone disappears. So this is my answer, are you up to the challenge?

My personal interest is Death Row...crime and punishment in America etc.
One of the most powerful and moving documentary's I've ever seen was Seven Day's In May ( I think that's the title) about Edward Earl Johnson and his execution for a crime he didn't commit. It even had an influence on my career choice!
It's easier too for me to say what I DON'T want to see....Food facists, fake tanned idiots - sorry celebrities and anything about dieting!!!

How about a documentary on the phenomenom of websites like this one, myspace, etc, and how they are becoming online communities. Folk get to know each other on these sites and seem to live a bizarre wee electronic existence separate from their real world life.

There you go!

I'd like to see a documentary about women who fall for death-row inmates. A few have been done, but I've not seen one done in a non-judgemental way.
