First Time Guitar?

My friend just lent me an acustic guitar to muck around on, where do I start?

I suggest buying the book 'Guitar for dummies' Don't take that in anyway personal, the book just covers all of the important basics like tuning, restringing, and every little detail. After some of that, move on to books for Tabs. Most explain how to read those at the start of the books. And from there everything just falls into place. Acoustic is a little more tricky then electric, but thats because the neck is wider as well as the strings are thicker. Don't let that discourage you and best of luck, I hope you enjoy the guitar!!

start by learning the chords and how the grip changes for each one , once you ve memorized them and learned to stretch your fingers , you can go on to melody .
