Lower gas prices are always attainable, if one were to pay attention and study the price of gasoline all year long for aperiod of 16 years, a peculiar trend would appear. the price of gas always mysteriously drops every fourth year for a period of about a year. After approx. a year the price reaches it's low point and starts rising again. Now this last eight year cycle was to the extreme and illustrates the trend perfectly with the exception that the lows wre not nearly as low as the steadily gradually increasingly lows as in the past. Instead the lows dropped only to the peaks of the high prices in years past and the high shot off the scale. during this time period we witnessed the jump to$2 a gallon and after that fourth year lull the price soared with never before seen increases reaching 3 dollars per gallon after only 1.5 years and it stayed there until now which is the fourth year of the cycle. so be thankful that we do have a cycle of four year terms capped at two.

It's good if you have to buy gas. It's bad if you are trying to get people to conserve. It will also slow the push for more fuel efficient cars and alternative energy.
