I prefer the liquid because sometimes the powder doesn't all dissolve and then I have laundry powder stuck in my clothes and have to re-rinse it all. What a hassle! And the powder also makes me sneeze.

Liquid dissolves better in the wash. Powder may not completely dissolve and while washing items like jeans it may actually stick to them and never rinse away before the cycle is over. i have heard that powder does a better job on whites but I use the liquid only.

i prefer the liquid. years ago my washing machine starting backing up into my kitchen sink, had to call rotorotor and they told me that powder detergents tend to cling to ur exhaust stack coming out of the top of your home and cause the water to back up. anyhow after paying several hundred dollars to clean this vent, i now use liquid and i havent had a problem since. not only that but powder can leave a residue on ur dark clothes.

I've used the liquid for years for the same reasons others have - no clumping, rinses better out of clothes and also with the lay down bottle I have over my washer - I just have to hit the nozzle and it pours right in the washer :-) No more scooping out dry powder. Plus I wash in cold water and I find it washes better.

A plumber will tell you that powder detergent sometimes stops of drain lines because it doesn't dissolve and the clumps attach to the drain lines, especially Tide. So, I always use liquid, EXCEPT that Amway's SA8 is fab, but kinda costly.

I use Tide liquid. It comes in a handy keg-size. I've tried powder.. and I just dont like it. I don't need a reason. :Ã
