I understand you want to be his friend, but he needs to pay attention in class. You aren't his mother and you are not responsible for making sure he gets his homework straight. He is responsible for knowing what to study and for studying. Honestly, If he's mad at you, then maybe you should find a new friend.

If it's really important to you, then just tell him the truth. Sometimes, people need to hear it. Just say, "Hey, I like you and I'm glad we are friends, but you can't hold me responsible for whether or not you pass or fail tests. I have to do my work, you have to do yours.

I used to have a girlfriend call me to wake me up in the mornings in college. Her boyfriend said something like that to me! I never asked her to do it again. I felt so low! I got my S**T together and got up on time myself. Although I felt bad at the time, that guy's honest changed my life. I'm responsible for my own behaviour and people DO watch and see how you behave. Maybe you will do him some good by telling him.

The thing is, if what that guy said to me wasn't true, I'd rebel. If I was just a jerk and wanted to make myself right, I'd rebel. But I'm a normal person who can see when I make a mistake, particularly if someone impinges on me with a true statement. So I wasn't mad at him. I admired him for putting my ethics on me. And I changed my behavior.

Try it. If your friend gets pissy, he wasn't your friend and isn't worth being friends with.

he is stupid. leave him alone !!! that s what i would... but obviously u don t wanna do that so...
give him some space maybe he needs a break.
school, exams... maybe he feel stressed. he probably want to feel safe and capable of something so he wants someone else to be responsible for all that so that he feels relief.

give him some space... if he is a good friend he will come back!
