Actually Women want the men to follow them, they want that a guy should be attracted to them. Most Men do not feel that way. Hence all the women try hard to maintain their figures, want a clear skin, etc. whereas men just have a bath put their jeans and shirts on and they are off. women feel that if they do not do use these beauty broducts the look ugly and that no man will be attracted to them.

I agree with both of the above answers. Men typically dont care much about their appearance; however, there are new products that I have seen recently for men. Women do seem to spend more time on their appearance.

I think women are more insecure
BUT look at Cleopatra. She was woman of power yet she was painted up like crazy. AND we admire her.

I don't want to have a high maintenance guy. that's a turn off.
Besides I can barely afford what face stuff I need for myself.
But if he wants to use sunscreen or moisturizer more power to him.
I think the industry is finally waking up to this fact. Nivea now has a whole line for men.

Some really good men's stuff available, my boyfriend and my sisters boyfriend like to look after themselves - who wants a boyfriend with greasy dull skin and premature wrinkles anyway.

Clinique do a great range for men and women, get yourself down to Debenhams for your free skin consultancy and get buffing that skin to perfection - don't stop at the face - bum's need loving care too...not sure they will look at this for you in store though!

Women need it more, they lose there looks quick, they need the confidence boost and they are willing to spend more than us men, so where there is a demand it will be met by the producers .

In humans woman are the ones that attract a mate visually, men respond to this visual stimulation. In most birds the male attracts the female visually, hence their colorfulness.
It is just nature.
