Document her infractions. Don't list trivial infractions as it will look like harassment. Be factual. Keep your emotions in check. Remain professional in all dealings with her. Treat ALL employees in the same manner; greet her when you greet the other employees, etc.. Never speak negatively about her in the presence of other employees.

Use graduated disciplinary action, per your employee handbook. (Verbal warning, written warnings, suspension, termination.) Speak to your supervisor and to your HR director when you have any questions.

Always have a neutral witness (your supervisor?) present when discussing her infractions and have her sign the infraction to prove that she was notified.

Don't forget to document her shortcomings in her annual evaluation. It will be hard to dismiss her if the annual evaluation says she is perfect. Again, be factual. Document everything.

Avoid being alone in a room with her to discourage bogus sexual harassment complaints. And don't do anything stupid like sexually harass her.

Join a team sport or take up a strenuous exercise to work out your frustrations. Exercise often.

Good luck.

Please remember that u cannot demand respect, u have to command respect. And the only way that u can do so is by being better than your juniors professionally and having the moral courage to tell her to stop doing whatever she is doing. Are u sure that u are not a tad jealous of her for whatever the reason.

You are just her senior, why should you bother so much? Shouldn't her supervisor or the boss monitor her performance? Just do your job, and ignore about what others people behave will make your life better.

If you line-managed her, you have every right to fire her due to poor performance. Don't you do annual performance review of your staff? Document her performance, e.g. complaints received , poor teamwork, missed deadline, insubordination.

It is pointless to sit here and scream. Act to solve the problem! Otherwise she will walk all over you....

Maybe she doesn't respect you because you expect respect. Just because you are older doesn't mean you are better, and respect has to be earned. Handling her in that way may really help.
