I actually have no choice, I'm an amputee. Ergo an automatic is the only way to go.

I prefer an automatic. Were I live There is a lot of stop and go traffic. Driving an automatic is just easier. But I know how to drive a stick. When I was learning to drive, I took drivers Ed. But they didn't teach us to drive a stick shift. So my Dad did, he said every one should learn to drive both. I am glad he taught me.

Stick shift is the only way! With an automatic box not only do you have significantly less controll over your revs and therefor your acceleration curves. Not to mention you loose power thorough an automatic gearbox, you gain a significant amount of bhp from using a manual gearbox.

Besides which it makes driving more fun!

I love my automatic!! My pretty little auto Opel Corsa... She's my first car and my baby!!

However... I learnt to drive in a manual, and although I'm a bit rusty, I can still drive one.

I think when my Corsa dies, I'll get another automatic. They are just so much easier - you don't have to fiddle - it's just D or R or P when you stop!!! No fussing about with 1234....

I reckon I'll always stick to autos... but I don't want to lose the ability to drive a manual though... Always good to know in case of emergency!

If i am going to race a car i prefer manual. For normal everyday driving you cant beat an automatic.

I'm gonna have to say automatic because I do not know how to drive a stick and from what I've seen a stick seems like a lot of work working the gears and stuff .....

I prefer a 5 speed, however when you are stuck in stop and go traffic on freeway for any length of time. it is sure a lot easier to drive an automatic.
