No, I do not accept your terms and conditions, especially when you shout them.
I disagree that the rest of society is only concerned with the outside, although I will accept your condition that this question is just about the outside. But if it was true that the rest of the world had no more depth than that, we would not be able to make real friends on the Internet, where we don't even see the outside.
What are standards of beauty? Generally, they revolve around a healthy, pleasant version of the main genetic strain of your group. That is, large lips or large hips, it's mostly what your genetic makeup has programmed for the gender being observed. So, for example, a Pennsylvania German will recite, as did his father and his grandfather: "A fat wife and a full barn never did any man harm." It's not true, of course; fat women (such as myself and my sister) can get very crabby about being rejected by the rest of society, and at least occasionally take that out on her husband.
People naturally look to the healthiest females as the prettiest, because the hind brain is always looking at what sort of mother she would make. That's why girls are surprised when men say "too skinny" after they've suffered to lose weight. A man wants to see a woman who looks substantial enough to carry a pregnancy to term and nurse a child. This is in spite of what his fore-brain might say. His hind-brain, the part that comes up from distant ancestors all the way back to the caves, has a major role in sexual attraction.

Ok, well here is the truth and if you don't like it, I'm sorry. Physical beauty comes in all different packages. In some cultures, a wide nose is seen as attractive and others it is not. Different types of features appeal to different people. Some people think a size 8 is fat, others think a size 20 is fat. No two people have the exact same views of what is attractive and what isn't. So just because you may personally find someone unnattractive, doesn't mean someone else won't find that person beautiful and vice versa. There is no such thing as universal beauty, because beauty is in the eye of the beholder and as cliche as it sounds, it's a very true statement. HTH.

I don't agree with your statement - the physical beauty attracts, but is not everything. Sometimes you can be considered conventionally beautiful yet not attractive - perhaps you have a horrible or dull personality. Conversely, you can be considered as you say - fugly - and have confidence and people will flock to you. Inner beauty will ALWAYS shine through. The inside does count. I can attest to this because I am traditionally attractive, but I had the worst personality. Needless to say, hardly anyone liked me. Now that I've undergone a complete personality change, I see the change in people
You must be really stupid or bored to concern yourself with such stupid concerns. What are you, 10?

You want an answer concerning only the external appearance, you got it. There is no standard of beauty, per say. Everyone has an idea of what they consider pretty and these ideas are a varied as are the individuals themselves. Some people like really tall women, some prefer unusually short. Some people like really fat, some like disturbingly skinny, it's about what someone finds attractive.
A person's natural feature are really ALL that they need. It is just a matter of finding someone that likes those particular traits. And believe me, there are more ploeple looking for those traits that you might imagine. Of course, some people are too self conscious about ther eaction of people around them to let it be known what they really find attractive. I mean, I like pregnant women, I find them extremely erotic, most guys that feel that way won't admit to that, of course when I did mention it to a couple of people I knew, they admitted the same. I had one friend that liked really, REALLY large women, in fact, he refused to date a woman that weighed less than 300 lbs. So the whole idea of what is pretty is so relative that it no matter what you look like, someone is looking for that appearance, it's just a matter of finding such a person.

well anything that doesnt resemble a supermodel or celebrity so lets see...
Face:
big nose
small eyes
thin lips
big ears
ears that stick out
frizzy hair
too curly hair
pimples
wrinkles
bushy eyebrows
Body:
small breasts
saggy breasts
flabby stomach
flabby arms
big butt
tiny butt
big thighs (anything over a size 8 is considered big these days)
no calves
knobbly toes...
there is so much that if we all had to try to look like the beatiful we would have to spend a vast amount of time in pain. I think that the above is considered to be ugly by some because it is not the image shoved in our faces on a daily basis by the media as to what is beautiful. Its actually a crock of crap... but man is fickle and incredibly shallow...
hope it helps...

definatly not. I think it's a matter of how you treat yourself and how you carry yourself. i know people that arent traditionally pretty, because they're larger or because they have a strong feature but I think it's the flaws that make us who we are. People who are fat can still take care of themselves. People who have a big nose can still be pretty. And i dont think these things should be changes with plastic surgary, because - what an awful thought - we might all end up looking the same in the end!

I dont know where you live or what kind of people you surround yourself with but that question is totally ridiculous. My best friend weighs 250lbs and has more confidence than I would ever dream of having and has men flocking to her. Kind of the exact opposite of what you are saying about bigger people being unattractive dont you think? If you notice the rest of society has started to realize that not all people are a size 2. Have you not noticed that more companies are starting to use models that appear more healthy, have more to them than skin and bones?

I totaly agree with smart ranger, I know a bunch of people that is not very good looking and since they have this confidence, people see through it that get them attracted to that person. It's not how you really look, it's how you carry yourself in front of everybody. What you need to do is stop hangging around with shallow people and stop reading those damn magazines. It's very sad that your only concerned with how people look from the outside and it's very wrong for you to generalize people that that's all they care about, obviously you have a lot of growing up to do, not everyone is shallow u know..

taste is not for pleasure, its so that we know which food is good for us and which is bad. The same goes for appearance. We only sense beauty because we are programed to respond to it. It is our way of getting the best partners together, just like animals are attracted to the brightest feathers etc.
Saying true beauty lies beneath is just a cop out, its a combination of both. Notice how gay people "look" gay? That's their body language, it comes from within to change their body language, the same applies to other people, their outside appearance is a reflection of their personality, which is why European women are generally more beautiful than Anglo Saxon because their persona is shown in the body language of their face, which we detect as beauty, just as we can generally pick gays as gay by their look.

A beautiful face is considered to be one with all the features in the right proportions (some scientific survey)
