Ads, in many cases could be annoying at times, especially in between movies and serials. On an average, a 30-minute serial has an ad break of upto 8 minutes, and a 3-hour movie has a staggering Ad-Break of upto One Hour. I dont say that there should be no ads in TV, but can't they be reduced, especially when most of the TV channels are paid channels now-a-days? Can't the Commercial break be reduced to 2 minutes(total) for 30-minute-serials, and 10 minutes(total) for 3-hour-movies?

Advertising drives pretty much all of our media. S'what makes it profitable.

I don't really know a lot about TV anymore. I thought that the movie channels were supposet to be pretty much commercial free.

Myself, I hate commercials. My TV attention is 100% for shows, but the instant a commercial comes on, I'm bored out of my mind and uninterested. Thus, unless I record a program, I rarely make it past the first commercial.

What I'd like to see is full episodes, with maybe a 2-minute break right in the middle like you suggested, with more commercials on either end of a program. I hate watching edited movies, so I don't want them on TV.

Unfortunately, advertising is what brings in the bucks, so stations are not likely to make radical changes soon.

Yes they will be there. ' Cuz then who will pay all those expenses incurred in making these TV serials. Though some satellite TV compnies like Satelitetvclub(http://xrl.us/satellitetvclub) claim that do not have advts on their channels.

Because tv shows are paid for by them sleves yes but television companies need to make money by selling ad space. its like a phone book, that is how they make their money to pay their actors 1 million an episode
