I agree with the previous poster. The only way for you to decide this is to research what it's like to own rabbits. You should start off at the House Rabbit Society's website. They have a ton of great information for a person who's thinking about getting a rabbit. From what they need for food, to how to litterbox train them step-by-step, to what they need for toys (yes, rabbits need toys too!). I would start there and then talk to some people that you know who own rabbits (if you have any friends with bunnies go over to their house for a while and see what the little guys are like...also, you can watch them in the petstore to see how they spend their days). The website for the House Rabbit Society is: www.rabbit.org. Start there, and if you have any other questions don't hesitate to e-mail me directly at: kbviolin_98@yahoo.com

Though I'm no rabbit expert, I can give you some tips......... First, think about the space in your house, whether you have enough space for a hutch or a cage. If you have the space, think about your time and money. Rabbits are also living things and need lots of attention. Responsibility comes in first when you get a pet. A pet is a lifetime commitment, so do NOT throw your rabbit away after you get bored with it. Well, that's all I've got to say now, wish you good luck!

Rabbits are a lot like big guinea pigs...very messy in that they poo all over. But their poo is like pellets so it's easy to clean. They are smellier than a guinea though and they will need a lot of room. Look online, I saw folks that had built hutches or had even made a 'rabbit room' where their bunny had free rein. A tiny 'hutch or cage' the size of the animal is cruel. Get the biggest cage you can afford or check freecycle.org for a free one!

My sister had a pet rabbit. It was allowed out of the cage and was litter box trained. Good luck!

Yes, I know a lot of people who keep their rabbits as indoor pets. This is very common.
