I would hopefully marry for love, but also many other factors should be considered. I think you should be able to discuss what your hopes for the future are, what you both would like for instant will it be 50% between you both.
Will their be emotional support and how would the finances be dealt with.
Do you both have freedom to continue separate hobbies what happens if one becomes seriously ill.
How do children fit into the relationship.
Generally people do look for different things, some like living on the edge while others prefer security, you have to choose what options are best for you. I have known people that would marry for money personally that would not be an option that i feel i could agree with.

People get married for those reasons but also because it's ingrained that it's what you are supposed to do in order to start a family. There are legal aspects to it too. Now though you don't have to be married to give your child the fathers last name. The stigma of being an illegitimate child is long past. A woman no longer needs to give up her identity and take a mans name. To me the concept of marriage is submission and it's the female who loses herself persay. I was married once and I will never do that again. Be very careful who you end up with. The long term marriages of yester year are gone it seems. Values were different then and women don't take the cheating or abuse like they used too. NOBODY HAS TO GET MARRIED ANYMORE, they choose to.

I married because i was in love with whom i thought to be my prince charming. He turned into Freddy Krugger overnight. We divorced. I'm in another relationship, have been for years and do not feel the urge to marry at all. In fact i wouldn't remarry for all the gold in the world! I'm hhappier the way i am and hey!
