I found out today I have a foot sprain and was sent home with my ankle wrapped, a splint, and crutches. I was told to stay off of it for 1-2 weeks. The problem with that is I have a job interview at a day care tomorrow and there is no way to work at a day care while on crutches. Would it be ok to just keep it wrapped and use the splint while at work if I get the job or should I go ahead and stay off of it, and be guaranteed not to get the job?

Do as the Dr. said -they know what they're talking about and see a lot of these problems. if you use it too much it will slow the healing, which will ultimatley cost you the job, because you will be off longer than 1-2 weeks.

Like The_Answer_Person suggested, take care of your foot first. Sprain's heal poorly if not taken care of properly and will keep haunting you as a chronic problem. Don't bear weight on the injured foot for a couple of weeks. But do go ahead and attend the interview to show how much you are interested in the job. And hope for the best!

Take care of the foot as the doctor recommended. Go to the interview and let them know that you sprained it but will not be able to start for two weeks unless they want you there just for on the job training, Be sure to let them know you are very interested in getting the job. Good luck!

Go to the interview and see what happens, but there isn't going to be a way you can chase after little ones on that foot....wether you want to or not won't be an option. You physically won't be able to. Maybe they will be understanding and atleast let you come in a observe and train without alot of physical activity right off. Good luck!
