I've had my decks for years and they've worked fine... I packed them away when i way away for a few years- when i came back i opened one up to listen to some of my records. Then, one day i was about to play something and the deck just seemed dead! I tryed replacing the fuse in the plug but still nothing happened. Anyway the next day i took the other deck out- few weeks later same thing happened to that one!!!! I am totally baffled!? How can the same thing happen when they have worked perfectly fine for years!

This could be caused from several different variables. Depending on how you stored your tables. Dust, bugs, moister, or even heat could cause your tables to malfunction. If I was you I would think about anything that could have come in contact with your equipment (even dust!) and seek advice from a repair shop that specializes in DJ equipment. I would not turn them on anymore until you fix the problem, it may cause more damage. Hope things work out for you.

Technics/Panasonic equipment is the best. I have used it like you for years. It sounds as though, after storage, your drive belt is stuck or worn. Carefully remove your turntable and check the belt, there is normally a clip to remove from the spindle first. My first turntable was the SL30.
