Contact your local Small Business Advisor (check yellow pages) and go and see them. They can give you advice on how to start up a business to market or manufacture your product.

It's a free service so make use of it.

Patent first, as advised, then you will need to look at production, will you make it (will need a prototype first), how much will it cost, how will you finance it?

How much can you sell it for?

Get an accountant early, they are boring but might just stop you being ripped off.

If you need cash then off to the bank as a start, they often have business advisors, or venture capatalists, shop around for the best deal for you.

Local council also have Enterprise Agencies which should be able to advise on grants etc.

You will need a strong business case, so know your market, the reasons why your product is better than anyone elses, why they will buy it.

Best of luck, let us know where we can buy whatever it is.

There are websites, (inventionsupport or just google invention websites) however you'd do much better taking your idea to a lawyer who will meet with you without charging you based on a percentage of your profit. He can help you discern whether this is in fact a new idea, and then help you patent it. Anything online would would speculative at best, you wouldn't have any notice of confidentiality and at worst they would take your idea and run with it...

If you go to your local Chamber of Commerce they will be able to give you all the help you need. They can advise on business start up, patenting, marketing and may even be able to help you link up with potential outlets.

You need to get a patence for it which means you need to do a booklet of all the ingredients and how you are going to make it and all that jazz its long but worth it if you think its a great plan!!!
