Probably not, but he's better than most of the media paints him.
I think it will be a good 20 years before we will have the perspective to say whether or not he has been a great president.
I'm 65 years old. The first president I became aware of was Harry S. Truman. President Truman--God bless him--was vilified during his presidency. Everyone in 1948 was certain Truman would lose to Tom Dewey. The Chicago Tribune ran a famous (and WRONG) headline: "Dewey defeats Truman."
Many years later in an interview Barry Goldwater said the greatest president of his lifetime was probably Harry Truman. Now very few people dislike Harry Truman and many think he was a great president.
My own thoughts are that he did an incredible job considering that his predecessor--Roosevelt--did nothing to prepare his V.P. to succeed him, even though he personally selected Truman because of that possibility.
George W. Bush may very well wind up being listed among our great presidents. I hope so. I personally like the man very much.

Overall, I believe that Reagan was the best President. Jimmy Carter was, perhaps, the most useless, and FDR was pretty bad domestically. Bush probably could have achieved high status had he been able to capitalize on some momentum after Spetember 11, however he failed to do so, even though the country wanted to rally behind him. Had he been more aggressive in Iraq by adopting the Powell Plan (overwhelming force, and agressive tactics) instead of the Rumsfeld Plan (barely adequate force, politically-correct tactics), he most likely could have avoided much criticism over that. He is soft on immigration, has made bad decisions, has failed to capitalize on political momentum at key points during his tenure, and doesn't really have a defining moment. I'd say he's probably a could-have-been.

When the Prime minister of Iraq was shaking the hand of president Bush.
He said " President Bush is a man of integrity and America is a country which keeps its promises.
No gun was being held at this mans head.
President Bush is doing a tough job but he is a man of strength and compassion and will not give in .
God Bless America.

president bush has to be the all time weakest president ever, he runs the white house like a corporation, delegate this, handle this, just don't implicate me on details of anything, and leave me an out. remember hes a gas man by trade, a failure as a baseball owner, c student grad, just an all round rich kid that's given ever thing he's ask for, whats his policy on global warming, wait till all my gas is sold, then well deal with hybrid later. greedy and selfish, exon recorded its biggest profit in one qtr ever, think it was like 40 billion, about 1 million a minute

Only if my winkie is 12 inches long and it hangs out with that Lohan chick all of the time. Monkeyboy will be the long-festering boil on America's buttocks. Hopefully, the voters will take the necessary steps to start lancing it this fall.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that he is the "greatest" President of all time, but I know that he will be hard to forget. Especially considering his platform, what he did while he was in office, and those that he appointed, and their shenanigans.

If President Bush is the greatest president of all time, then Anna Nichole Smith is the greatest example of a wife and mother of all time.
In otherwards, you have GOT to be joking.
He is the WORST president we've had in at least 20 years.

I voted for him, yes, but even I don't think he is or will be hailed as the greatest president of all time.

No, but Bush is the best, most honest, and most liberal president since Clinton, and he is almost as honest as Clinton!
