Your best bet is not to have sex at all but I say get some form of birth control because condoms can easily bust.

Some of your other respondents mentioned that they believe that a condom can keep out a sexually transmitted disease unfortunately not true the AIDS and the HIV virus's can fit through the holes in the condom material. Also you need to consider that the failure rate's of condom's is extremely high and even with use they do break and that the breakage of said condom can result in pregnancy. I am not a doctor but nobody else who has answered seems to have been aware of this information that is very important to your decision about what to do with your life in this type of activity. If you don't believe me ask your doctor if what I said is true they'll likely confirm what I am saying. Good luck with that "safe" sex.

the HIV virus does not fit through the latex. The best thing to do to avoid HIV is get yourself and your partner tested. It can take up to 6 months for HIV to test positive but, it usually takes only 3. Other stds can be transmitted even when you are using a condom so, it's important get your partner tested and get regular paps for hpv if you are female.
The failure rate of condoms is not actually very high! Perfect use of condoms is 98% effective. If you feel that is not enough, use birth control too or get plan b if a condom breaks.

if u REALLY wanna avoid getting pregnant - dont have sex! Or u can have your tubes tied! Or get ur partner to get fixed! Or just use birth control! Many options! The pill, patch, shot or the iud. Good ol' condoms work too. Also good to avoid std's and aids and other unwanted infections! Good luck!

no method is 100%, so the best bet for not getting pregnant is to use two methods of birth control. (condom and pill/shot/other hormonal). Condom is really the only thing against STD's anyway, so that should be used either way if you are not in a mutually monogamous relationship and have both been tested for STD's.
