NO IT'S NOT ALWAYS TRUE. In some versions of Sony Ericsson K750i, the sound of camera can be turned OFF by keeping the phone in silent mode. The newer versions cannot be made silent. By flashing and changing the software it can be made possible. In the newer versions, while recording a call, after every 20 seconds there will be a beep sound. Whereas in older version there is no beep sound.

It can't be turned off. They built it into the phone to stop perverts taking candid shots of young girls and that sort of thing. I hate the sound though. The only way to get rid of it is to get the phone unlocked, which isn't easy unless you're willing to pay for it.

It's your firmware. Some "local" firmware versions don't allow the camera sound off as it's illegal in that part of the country. Try updating your firmware via the cable and see if that changes anything. It worked for me!

you can't, the noise has been added so that you can't take sureptitious photographs of people, like in changing rooms etc.
