thats a good point. my question is if a woman leaves her husband for another man and takes the kids why should the husband pay support. i also believe the person paying the support should get a detailed accounting of where the money went.

Thats a tough one, I do not have any children...I do believe in child support but to a limit. I have worked in the car sales business and most women leave thier men in that field due to extensive hours that are put in. One manager I knew had to pay around $5,000 a month in support. I am sorry but that is ridiculous she could in fact just stay at home and live off his support when it is to go to the child. He made excellent money but that is outrageous and uncalled for, if he has a bad month he still has to come up with the money forced to live in an apartment...paying $5,000 to her and he lives in an apartment he should have a $500,000 house realistically and maybe give her $2,000 a month that should be the limit...the man still sees the child he can buy the child whatever it needs/wants also. Just because she has primary custody doesn't mean he has to support her also. A child can not cost more than $2,000 per month unless you are a yuppie and have to have the child in private school (which goes on top of support) the support is to pay for half of the food and housing for the child...anything else needed (i.e. hospital bills, schooling, dentist, activities) are supposed to be split by both parents, while the women can just take it out of the other three thousand and he ends up paying more...so yes we can become slaves to that regard. The problem is most men won't man up and pay if they aren't forced to.

Good luck with your project. It sounds very interesting. But, to answer your question, let me ask you this.....Would men pay child support without the government forcing them to take care of their children? The reason for the government handouts is because so many women are leading single parent families and living in poverty. Instead of resorting to crime, we must increase our standards in pay quality and education. Additionally, instead of blaming each other for the responsibility of a child we conceived together, we must work together. I am sure some child support is better than no child support at all. I know women are not out to make slaves of these men. It is clearly shown how they put forth so much energy and effort to support men and raise men. Slavery is very visible in the U.S. We just ignore the truth and begin to blame eachother for our oppression. Truthfully, you are right. We are slaves. Slaves to the system of the U.S. but it is NOT due to child support. It's more base on employment and educaition opportunities, which raises economic status, which creates stronger families and stable homes. These are rights we must continue to fight to obtain. The saga continues....

Supporting your own child is not an option but rather a necessity. I think everyones circumstance is different and there should be considerations for men that have a low income. It is not just men that are slaves in our society, it becomes more evident everyday that this world is becoming a global plantation where people in power control the many and the many have their rights taken away. Slaves - yes - but not just men.

What is normal is 25% after taxes for one child, 33% for two!
You made them, your first obligation is to them!\
How are you a slave? Because you have to support your own children? You don't feel you have any obligation?
I think you mischaracterize those who try to live on as little as you give them and none live in paradise!
How old are you?
I seriously doubt you have anything to do with the ACLU, and it is the States that usually assigns the amount of support!
Don't want to pay support and live free, wear a condom!!!

Maybe, but then all parents are "slaves" to their children in some way.
While it's typically men, women can also be "slaves " in this way. And while the men are slaving away making $1000 a month, the women are at home, slaves to breastfeeding every few hours, chainging diapers, and giving up careers to care for children.
Don't have kids if you don't want to be a "slave" to them.

and considering that the average female makes only 80 cents of every dollar earned by the average male..... what are you "whining about"!!! ...and what country are you referring to that provides free housing, "childcare", new cars, and paradise for women? Are you on drugs? I'm a working mom, supporting my child (and not in the lifestyle to which we were accustomed, by the way) and child support is absolutely crucial! It took two people to create that life and it will take two people to support that life as well. Grow up!!!

Men are denied medical?.....Don't these $12.50/hour jobs have health coverage?
Where are women getting this "free housing, childcare, new car" you speak of? And "living in paradise?"
Your argument cites no sources and seems to be lacking in foundation.
The simple fact is children require support and both parents are responsible for that. If a non custodial parent, in this case father, isn't there to provide it, the courts have to order it to ensure the best interests of the child.
Men are free............to behave responsibly with their sexual behaviors and not create children if they would consider it "enslaving".

Hey, here's a great idea: if you can't support a kid, don't have one. Why do guys almost always have to pay the child support? Because the law favors women, assuming that it's nearly always the guy's fault for the rift. If you don't like paying high taxes, then stop electing people that will raise your taxes.
