i know i can't answer you satisfactorily. i am straight too. your story made me think of how a girl feels when they are being hit on by a guy they don't like. but i really don't think gay people should be arrested just because they told you you're hot. if that would be valid grounds for arrest, then why can't men be arrested for that same reason?
the answer is, as long as they are not violating your rights as a human being, they have the right to walk the same ground you are walking.
just walk away if you don't like the attention as if you didn't hear anything.

Well, you can't arrest someone for commiting no crime, that's kinda the way it works in this country. However, since they have opened the door to a dialogue, and have set the baseline for how vulgar the dialogue may be, you then have the absolute right to be as nasty, insulting, vulgar, and demeaning to them as you feel like, so long as it stops short of threatening. However, if one of them actually grabs you in any way (read; sexual assault) and you gave them no provocation to do so, then you have the right to flail them rather soundly (self defense, just be careful of the biohazards). These are no different guidelines than a woman has available to her when being approached by a man's unwelcome advances, so there is no double standard here.
Whatever your orientation, people don't like to be hit on in an agressive manner, usually. Just don't do it, anyone, to anyone else, and the world will be a much nicer place. And if you do it to someone else, you deserve whatever you get back, be it a drink thrown in your face, or alienation by a whole group of people. I have several friends that are just plain gay... it makes no difference to me, I'll hang out with them and their boy/girlfriends and have a great time. But the militant fruits just piss me, and everyone else, off, and don't do any good for their cause, whatever the hell that is.

"saddam and gamora" ha ha, you idiot
at the same time we would have to arrest all guys who come on to girls and vica verca, you must be giving off some some gay vibe if so many guys are approaching you.

if i was you i would take it as a compliment because I've been told gays and lesbians are very choosy as to who they like, and if he thought you were hot then ur lucky
don't take offense to it, he ain't guna bend u over n slip u 1 there and then, so in effect you can walk away and you will probably never see him again unless he's a neighbor, in that case if you don't want him saying things like that to you then just tell him to stop it politely

All homosexuals should be arrested.
Notice that excluding this sentence, I didn't use the word 'gay'.
