I'm 39wks 4days and at my last appointment my doctor said if I don't have the baby by my due date (the 18th) then she wouldn't let me go a week past. She said that the longer they stay in there past 40wks the higher the chance of miscarriage gets. I've never done this before so I have no clue.

I have an appointment for the day after my due date and she said I'll have to go in for an ultrasound if I haven't gone into labor. If everythings good, we're setting up to be induced as soon as we can. I REALLY don't want to be induced but I also haven't gone this long to put the baby in any danger.

I went into labor at work the first time on Apr 25th. I was not due until May 27. They stopped my labor and sent me home two days later. I had my daughter on May 11th 2003.

One month early. Baby stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks just to gain some weight, but she was healthy and just fine. 12 years later she is just as normal as any one. Good luck :)

My sister delivered the baby after a few days, and only because the doctors didn't want to wait longer.

I heard that story too. It happened with my mom and my mother in law but not for me. My son was due on Sept 23, but he arrived on the 14th!
