i "think" it should be up to each individual, not all people together + goverment agenst one. i dont understand why people do the "bombings" the do, i think its just more intolerance but i realy am clueless about this. every one keeps talking about it and has made it a burrning thot on my mind. i think asking this question is more worth the 5 points than the last 3,(personaly,) no "intense-hot-topic/point or offence intended, just want to see the facts and opinions of the masses.

scince i was asked to explain on the "bombings" , i will, but not before i say it was intended to give an apolagy for asking a serious question as much as it wasent intended to p i s s any one off,(as such sensitive issues seem to,) just simply trying to get an understanding on the issue becuse i am kinda clueless. when people talk to me about this i usualy dont have an answear other than i am not realy sure but at least the individual's choice should be respected, i mean its alot to go thrue and i respect that all around. as for those abortion clinic bombings, what the h e l l ? more people dieing becuse someone has to be forcefully selfrightious and hypicritical in this way?!?!?! the way i see it, and its one to definatly think about the possabilitys with this, i belive thrue understanding do we all get along, if something is upsetting to me i try to understand it before i react so i react acordingly. not all bad is good nor good bad, and nothing is as it apears to be. simple.

First a few words on previous answers: The "potential" of the embryo, if it were to develop into a person, should carry no more weight than deciding to forgo contraception and have lots of sex and lots of babies, in order to create all those new people with their potential.

Also, many pro-life / anti-abortion thinkers talk about "children" or "unborn babies" as if the embryo is already a full human person with a right to life. Think about the question of embryonic personhood for yourself. I see it as a religious, not scientific, question.

Eileen McDonagh writes about a powerful new paradigm for abortion rights, that isn't affected by embryonic/fetal personhood: Pregnancy is such an imposition on the woman's well-being and safety that imposing pregnancy without her consent is an attack.

If someone injected you with a drug that caused you to gain 25 pounds and be nauseous, vomiting, urinating frequently, and have back pain, and risk a 60% chance of medical complication -- all this for many months -- and you did not consent to those effects, any civilized society would rightly see it as an attack and recognize your right to defend yourself.

Women have the right to self-defense whether or not the attacker is a "person". In the case of pregnancy without consent (and consenting to sex does NOT imply consenting to pregnancy!), the only way to remove the attack is to remove the embryo.

While I personally wouldn't want my wife/daughter/friend to get an abortion, my morality does not represent the answer. Here's my view:

Abortions will always happen. Wherever they are illegal, some quack is willing to perform abortions using whatever tools necessary. Our technology has advanced beyond some nut with a coat hanger. Women should have the choice. Though some people believe that abortion is wrong, the laws of the U.S. say it is legal. A person's belief that "it's a child, not a choice" is just that, a personal code of morality that they try to force on others. Lots of people think it's immoral to drink alcohol; many disagree. If those people who think it's immoral to drink don't want to, they aren't forced to.

Abortions will always happen. A woman should have the option, if she so desires, to have the procedure take place in a clean setting with trained professionals who will take care of her and make it as safe and painless as possible. It wouldn't be my choice, but I don't begin to think that my worldview is 100% correct. As such, I won't force someone who disagrees to conform to it.

well let me try here,,,,, after all i'm running for president,,,,,, it's a choice of the woman in the position,,,,, we are a nation of freedom and one of those freedoms is choice!! ,,,, an adult woman should not be told what to do with her body,,,,, she will deal with it and some day god gets involved,,,,, but we as "MAN" don't have a place in that choice........ but that doesn't mean we have to condone it,,,,, not a federal dime for abortion,,,,, but i'm not about to tell a woman """and citizen"" what she can do with her body,,,,, when the people get together and ask the real questions when does life begin,,,, when does the soul enter the body,,,,, and when does the person, the individual begin,,,,,, then we might be able to deal with this

So, are you done apologizing enough for asking yet or should we wait a while?

On the abortion, you know thing.

Why is it only a woman that gets to decide. Is she only having female children? Is it that she became pregnant off a toilet seat? Oh yeah, it is her body that's right. Tell her to keep her legs closed if she doesn't want to get pregnant that is her choice.

While you are "thinking" please explain the 'dont understand why people do the "bombings" the do'

It is a sin in religions.
Legally it is up to the government to decide.

Personally, I'm against for abortion too, except for rape cases and when the baby risks the mother's life.
Arguments:
-it is not right to force a doctor to kill a baby
-it is not right to kill
-the baby belongs to the father too, not only the mother
-when two people are having sex, usually they are completely aware of the possible consequences

I wouldn't necessarily vote for a president on 1 issue, especially since he doesn't make the laws!

Women should have the choice!

It's easy for those who want to make children have children, and others have children, but they are unwilling to help support them!

I think until they do support them they should just keep their high and mighty blaming to God! The Catholic Church did not decide to stop supporting abortion on the grounds of morality!

You don't have to choose. Every situation is different, but i personally think that a woman should have the right to choose what she does with her body, and its not the job of the government to decide. It's up to her,her family, her doctor, and her priests and everybody else should stay out and not judge people.

I'm prochoice. I think it's an individual decision to make in an individual circumstance. I don't think the government should be involved in that decision. Unless pro life people are going to adopt the baby, it's none of their business what someone who they don't even know does.

i do agree that it should be up to the person to choose on her own, however im personally against it bc u dont know the potential of that life ur about to kill! it doesnt matter if ur sixteen and still in high school- have the baby and give it up for adoption OR take care of it with help of family members. that kid could grow up to be someone that could help this world out...he/she can be the one to change someones life (you never know!) its not fair...all deserves the right to live!
