These are the reasons:

You are running too much of programs.

You do not have sufficient RAM. At lease 256MB ram need to run the computer smoothly.

You have a virus

Increase the virtual memory that will help to share your hard disk capacity as memory

and take it easy. You are dealing with a machine.

Yo JanJan--
Look--forget all this crap about the programs your running and the hard drive being full and the yada yada bing bang.........
The memory thing you're talking here is RAM (ready access memory)---you have a certain amount-- it will be numbered with the do da day about your machine in the ABC's of what you got

Thing is---working a computer takes a lot of this stuff and you are always gonna need more than you have---so go to downloads.com and get a freeware program called FREERAM XP PRO ---run this dog and I promise you ---you'll see a marked difference right away---Now don't get me wrong here--first chance you get--BUY some added RAM for your machine--that is in the form of an added little chunk of hard stuff for the inside of your CPU---IT WILL BE WORTH IT ---meantime--keep running everything you feel like running and go get the Freeram thing--------------->>>>>>

take it from a pro, anything less than 1gb of ram in your computer now a days is too low. with todays programs, some of them require a lot of memory to run smoothly. and don't worry about virtual memory on your hard drive, the windows xp will take care of that automaticaly when it needs to.
