Was there a sequel to the original Cinderella? Or the original Peter Pan? No! So why in the hell does Disney keep making sequels to these classic movies?! They're making Cinderella III, The Little Mermaid III, and Peter Pan III. It is just me or is Disney whoring themselves out?

sweets: The first Land Before Time was great. The other movies suck, but you're right.

I think Disney is running out of good ideas for movies! There was a sequel to Cinderella, Brother Bear, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid and some other ones too!

I totally agree with you. Disney used to have a reputation of producing good quality pictures based on good stories. The idea of producing sequel after sequel where none is called for is just showing them to be money grabbing, soul-less capitalists, who care nothing for the children who are brain-washed into demanding that their parents spend all this extra money on a less than substandard product.

Children today are said to have little imagination. It is because they are not encouraged to use it. We all wondered what happened to Cinderella after she and Prince Charming fell in love, but it was better to leave it to the imagination. I've not seen any of the sequels, but my daughter saw a few when she was little. I didn't want to see them in case they were nothing how I imagined they should be.

This all must be a sign that they are hungrier for large profits than they are at developing good stories. It is very rare any large conglomerate will take the risk of a new an innovative story. These days it seems they let the smaller independent film-makers take the risk and when they get a success, jump on the band wagon (often squashing it flat).

It's not just Disney, it's just about every movie now a days, they're making a Hostel 2 for goodness sake, as if the first one wasn't bad enough. Besides not all the sequels are "bad" I love Toy Story and think Toy Story 2 is just as good as the original.

I wish Disney would give it a break already. I am so-o-o-o sick of Disney, what they do is not for the kids, the children Disney haven't been for the children since the old man died, it's about money and how "Disney" can get every penny you can rake and scrape to: take the kids to see every sequel they can possibly come with and trying to make parents feel bad if they don't take the kids to see them.

yeah I think so. No matter what the originals are always the best and I think that a very small percentage of people actually view the sequels, which is enough reason why disney does not publicize them or place them in the movie theatres
