competition does not necessarily lead to mass destruction. the answer that everything will collapse might be a possibility but just a possibility. Rather if nations work in tandem to each other.. they might actually work in a symbiotic environment. Every one would be specialised in his own small thing and there would be an overall efficiency in utilisation of natural resources. One more thing that would affect the outcome will be the distribution of the wealth that will be created. remember all rich people is no bad situation.. but some very rich people will surely be a problem. If inequalities rise..so will the conflicts... resulting in a collapse.

The entire world economy would collapse. Logic dictates for common economic prosperity there's alway a loser. If everyone suddenly started winning then everything would crumble. The world economy would collapse.
