Hey Apache,

While I tend to like the answers about the part-time jobs and even rated then with a thumbs-up, I have since had second thoughts.

I like the way that you articulate yourself in your description of the events that have unfolded.

I think that you should talk with your friend and tell him/her exactly what you have told us. Ask him/her if they have any ideas. The only way you are going to get through this without having egg on your face and save your friendship is to have this exact same, non-confrontational discussion that you've had with us. He/She may not like this talk, but they will respect you for it.

Good Luck, you sound like your heart and your head are in the right place!

This is tricky. What you should have done was research and predict the business's success before you agreed to help your friend. The majority of new businesses go bankrupt and even if they don't it takes a lot of hard work and can even take years to actually make a sizable profit. But it seems it's too late now. If I were you, I'd talk to your friend and explain your situation. If they are really your friend they should understand if you want out even if they might be angry for a while. Also talk to your friend about how the business is going because maybe your friend was expecting something different, too. It could be that they are trying to make it work and not let you down but that they are really not ready to start a company yet. I know it seems like a lot of work, but you could get a part time job somewhere else to help cover some of the bills or maybe get a different job and set it up with your friend that you can join the company later when things are more settled for you. Well, I hope you get out of that mess and good luck!!!

Let me give you a short clue, do not ever go into business with family or friends. This type of situation never amounts to anything. Go it on your own girl you will be glad you did.

talk to your friend , see what the prospects are , maybe you could still hang with your friend and get a part time job to make ends meet till the business gets going , ,just do a little research

business ain't worth it...though it can pay good dividends it's a tricky game...owners brainwash you, make you believe in lucrative pay and shrink you down to size with meager checks. they make promises they can't keep. i would say find the courage to quit and find a better job you know you're good at. maybe business ain't your thing of comfort.
