i would read the whole chapter but maximise your short time well. If you are able to pick out what are the important points and had been paying attention in class, i would suggest you can skim through the elaboration and note down the main points on another peice of paper since writing will make you remember better (it's also easier to read the notes you made rather than the book)
However, if you had not been paying attention in class or had forgotten most of the explainations, it would be better if you read thoroghly and choose the important chapter to read (the one that had been heavily emphasized by teacher)

One day before is too late to begin. Unless of course you've stolen the exam or something equally extravagant. Reading the whole chapter is an excellent idea, WHEN YOUR SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!! Word Association is a great memory kick.

You should go through all the important details throughout your subjrcts. The best idea is to jot them down on a notepad and if you travel by public transport or something, you may want to read it over on the way to school. You can also just read it through a few times before you go to bed. And by the way, if you go anxious, you will waste all your hard work.Relax!
